Mom wanted to invent, little household items not resolving global issues (that was for men)
Invented diligently at night, dad was asleep, drew familiar items and added to it and the drawings were nearly unrecognizable
Night was the only time to stop moving, girls pressed her for an American life that their father wouldn't permit(and she won't either at first)
Argued in English, daughters picked it up first and she got better but was still a mishmash of idioms.

Daughters ere made fun of at school and it hurt mom but she brushed off and blamed it on daughters.

Moms idea or suitcase on wheels was patented and made a fortune, she's excited but gets over it
Mom became a worker at dads job and after suitcase she decided to take herself seriously and the inventing stopped.
Daughter becomes a good student and is chosen to read a speech to nuns at end of school year but she faces serious writers block
Daughter hated her accent and didn't like speaking in public, she didn't view the speech as an honor
She kept trying but didn't know what to write and eventually started running out of time
