A 15 year old girl that is a passionate volunteer, philanthropist and inspirational speaker has an unfinished mission to inspire other youths to follow their dreams. Amanda Belzowski’s lemonade stand has raised over $150 000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Save A Child’s Heart and Sick Kids Hospital.
Her Beginning
In 1998, at the age of 2, Amanda and her family were on a bike ride for the Heart and Stroke Ride in Toronto. After the fundraiser, they stopped to get a drink at a lemonade stand they passed by. It was her first appearance at a fundraiser. She was so inspired by the lemonade stand, she then took the role of a volunteer. The next spring, a few months later, her first lemonade stand became reality.

She was serving cookies and lemonade although donations were appreciated. Amanda was very young at the age when she was hosting the lemonade stand and raising money for foundations. As Amanda Belzowski once said "You're never too young to help for the good of the world and also you can do something no matter what. You can help no matter what.”
Amanda’s Inspirations
Amanda’s family has a long history with heart disease as her grandfather once had an artificial heart valve as well as her grandmother who was born with congenital heart disease. When her greatest supporter passed away, her grandfather, she was inspired to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. She stated that she is doing it for him. Fortunately, Amanda’s grandmother has gone through successful heart surgery. She has a lot of trust in her five year old brother Joshua who ran Joshua’s Cookie Counters, alongside Amanda’s lemonade stand, considering the fact that she passed the title to him.
