All Quiet On The Western Front Chapter Summary
In this part of the book the group starts finally seeing some action happening around them, there are patrol helicopters flying overhead in the desert, and they constantly have to take cover. One day they are behind some rocks and hear gunfire, they begin to engage the enemies in combat, yet they notice the sound of the guns they are using are the sound an MP5, a sub-machine gun, and that the Bzadians don't use those guns, they use ones from their own technology. This enemy makes them surrender, and it turns out that they are friendly, and are part of the British military. They then decide that when they go to sneak in to the enemy base, they will use the two British soldiers as prisoners, because the group has been worked with with lots of make-up and body

The two British soldiers that they meet after having a firefight turn out to be friends of Chisnall, and he gets to talking with them about the war. One had an injured leg, and he couldn’t walk on it with the support of one of the members there. When the Bzadian patrol arrived Chisnall did most of the talking as he was the leader. In the book they have the conversation between Chisnall and the Bzadian patrol in English, but it is a completely different language, because one of the “prisoners" speaks, and the Bzadians have no idea of what he is saying. After a few times Chisnall speaks, he seems unconfident of what he is saying, and is constantly scanning and examining the reactions of the patrol. They aren’t showing any signs of being suspicious towards the group, but a few times they seem confused by the reactions. Most likely they just think he is acting strange, or just has a weird personality. The Bzadians make many references to the “strange" ways of the scumbugz’s lives (Bzadians call humans scumbugz). They are particularly dumbfounded by the fact that humans stay with one partner their entire
