Was Alexander The Great really great? I would have to say that yes he was great. I think you have to look at his ability to take a team of soldiers and defeat a much larger force. Alexander founded 70 different cities, far more than anyone has ever done before in such a short time span. He also caused greek culture to spread amongst many nations. Not too many ways to find out how Alexander was evil, it might be because no one wants to remember that. He did kill a lot of innocent people that didn’t deserve to be killed. He also moved way too fast for some people. He would conquer a city and then keep moving. He didn’t spend time making sure the city developed fully or anything like that. This was just the personality and desire for more that Alexander had. Alexander still conquered what he conquered and helped shape the world today. Some people would argue that Alexander was not great, but I believe through courage, leadership, and intelligence, he was one of the greatest leaders of all time. One of the most important characteristics of being a good leader is courage. Alexander The Great certainly had courage throughout his whole life. He fought on the front line of every battle with his soldiers. This gave him a great deal of respect with him and his soldiers. He didn’t put himself on a higher level than them, he knew that the water he drank was the same exact water his troops drank as well. This made the troops feel more important and drove them to be as good as a soldier and fighter that they can be.
