It has become a common knowledge that alcohol is the major factor that contributes to sexual assaults. (Ressler, 2013). As a woman, we should take precaution when there's a lot of drinking and men need to be alerted to the fact that having sexual relations with a woman who is intoxicated is considered rape. People don't get assaulted in light of the fact that they have been drinking, are passed out or drunk. People get raped because there is a perpetrator there — someone who wants to take advantage of them. (Bliss, 2013). Warning someone about heavy drinking places the burden of not being sexually assaulted squarely on the shoulders of victims, and when they are raped this twisted dynamic often leads them to blame themselves for their own mauling.
