Air Pollution Are you doing everything you can do to live a long and healthy life, eating healthy, exercising? Well that might not be enough, everyday the air you breathe can reduce life expectancy by 2 to 3 years; and an estimated total number of 6.3 million deaths caused by air pollution (Air Pollution kills). Air pollution has been going on for years and takes many forms, it is harming our environment and killing us slowly; in order to solve this problem the people of the world need to start trying to make an everyday effort and have the governments of the world set reforms in line to combat air pollution. Because life is too precious to waste it breathing bad air. Air pollution is a health hazard to us because it is a factor of cancer, diseases and permanent health issues. There are numerous health problems associated with air pollution most of them are respiratory such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and lung cancer (Martin Hughes). Not only is it effecting normal healthy adults but the NIEHS finds children are most likely to get ill/cancer from pollution. Air pollution is a silent killer in sorts because you can’t really see it unless the cases are extreme, like in some of the upcoming countries the circumstances are much worse. “India is 174th out of 178 countries on air pollution... The matter in the air of 180 Indian cities was six times higher than World Health Organization standards. More people die of asthma in India than anywhere else in the world... Indoor air pollution and outdoor air pollution are the third and fifth leading causes of death in India. (New York Times). Air is the reason why we live, it should never bring us to an early death.
