Ainsworth State Park
There are 153 state parks in total, of those 153, I only chose two. One is, Ainsworth State Park, located an hour east out of Portland, Oregon. I very beautiful place to camp, go hiking, and having picnics, playgrounds for the children, restrooms, hot showers and a sump station for RV. The Ainsworth Park has 40 acres that was donated by a man name John c. Ainsworth and his wife in the year 1933. Through the years that pass more land was added on and facilities and trails were added on as well. Now, the acreage is 179.78 and the average attendance of visitors that come through the park are 26,041. Two is, Cascadia State Park, the state park is located an hour Southeast of the city Albany.     On 4th October 2001, I went on geography field trip to Ashdown Forest. We got out of the coach and started to walk towards the river source. Unfortunately due to the lack of weather there wasn’t any water. It was dry rather than muddy. We took some notes of landscape then we started walk towards the waterfall which was also dry. We could see where the drop was and where the hard rock eroded away soft rock. We took some measurement of the fall (width and depth). Secondly we walked toward the V-shaped valley and river. We drew the landscape of v-shaped valley and jot some notes down as well. But the river wasn’t fill up with water so there wasn’t any flow. So we took some measurements in our mini group. We measured river course section, speed and depth of water. Lastly we started to walk our way back to coach. On the way back we stopped at Arman’s Grave where 6 people died in plane crash in World War 2. We took some note on that and came back to coach. After that we had lunch and come back to school. In this project I am to explain some features of Ashdown Forest that I found out when I was on the trip.…

Grant in 1872, which was the first national park in the United States, many other countries decided to preserve their areas of natural beauty as well (“Preservation”). The original house was built over 400 years ago and rebuilt starting in the seventeenth century. The house is vast, with 175 room lit by over 2000 lights bulbs, and with a roof that covers 1.3 acres. Chatsworth’s many rooms are full of treasure including famous works of art by painters such as Rembrandt, and tapestries, sculpture. Valuable furniture, musical instrument and even 63 antique clocks which need winding every day. The gardens cover over 105 acres with more than five miles of footpaths that guide visitors past fountain, small and large (the largest is 28 meters high), cascades, streams and ponds, all of which are fed by gravity from four large man-made lakes on the moors above the grounds. The gardens are mix of formal and informal areas. There are sculpture, statues, rock gardens, maze and garden views that constantly change with the seasons, all managed and maintained by a small team of 20 gardeners. Both the house and gardens are open from March to December and are just two of the experiences available to visitors. Other include an orangery gift shop, restaurant and farm shop, which are open all year round, and the surrounding park land which is open to visitors for walking, picnics and swimming in the river.     Fort Sumter has to be one of the most historic national monuments in South Carolina. This fort has gone through a lot of history over the past years. I will inform you with some of the history behind this fort. The fort was appointed after the man called Thomas Sumter. He was conceived in 1734 and he past away in 1832. One of the main reasons why this fort is so famous is because its known as the first battlefield where gunshots started and it began the civil war. This fort had received an enormous amount of damage during the civil war because there were bombardments all over Fort Sumter. The biggest bombardment exploded in April 1861; in addition, around this time the fort was still being constructed the fort was formed in shape of a pentagon because it was believed that a fort has a better change of defending against outside intruders. What made it even better for the confederate army is that it was also built on the beach shore in the edge of the peninsula, so the union army had only one way of invading the fort. The fort was not actually finish when the civil war broke out. During the war the bombings almost destroyed half of Fort Sumter.…
