African Parent Life
Life of an African Parent in Today’s World

I live in the city of Foumban, Cameroon. We are a polygamy family, I am married to four women and I have 30 children. We live in a modest home, which is built from packed earth with a straw roof. My house consists of 10 rooms: 1 for me, 4 for my wife’s and 5 for the children. That makes an average of 6 children per room.
I get up at 6am to go is the early light of day. There is life in my village at 5am when we start our Muslim prayers which wakes up the children in the village. 7am I already had gone with 3 of my wife’s to gather wood for our days meals. I farm fish at the beginning the morning I look at my pond and already know the size of my fish. I know how many fry's (frequently Nile tilapia)

A prominent difference between the three groups of racial-ethnic mothers historically is that while African-American mothers were often encouraged to form families to increase the slave labor force, Chinese women were prohibited from starting families in America by law and also because they were often left behind in China. In contrast to African-American mothers, who experienced a somewhat egalitarian division of labor in the home, Chinese mothers often performed all domestic work because of the split household family system, and Mexican-American mothers also took on most of the domestic work.…

When first thinking of Africa not many people think of the great ancient African civilizations that shaped our world today. The movie the Wonders of the African World opened up my eyes to the amazing Black Kingdoms that were built in Africa and their advanced civilizations. The histories of these kingdoms have been ignored by many, for example the Nubian people had built great pyramids just as Egypt did and yet these people didn’t get the recognition for it. In fact, in ancient times these people were the most intelligent civilizations in the world, they even had universities in Meroe the capital of ancient Nubia along with huge temples and their own form of writing. The saddest part of all this is that there were many intelligent and sophisticated black rulers of ancient Africa and people are reluctant to accept this because of the great surge of racism.…
