Earth’s Magnetic Field
Introduction
Our Earth is a huge bar magnet tilted 11 degrees from the spin axis of the Earth, with geographic north pole being earth’s magnetic south pole and vice versa. Similar to how a magnet has a magnetic field surrounding it, our Earth also has its own magnetic field. The earth’s magnetic field is formed in the earth’s core due to a process known as the dynamo effect. According to dynamo effect, the rotation of the fluid metallic iron in the earth’s core and the rotating conductor model cause the earth’s magnetic field. My research focuses on how Earth’s magnetic field effects our environment, humans, animals, and our ecosystem in general.
The Earth’s magnetic field is very important, but it is unknown how much of an effect it has on the earth and the animals and people living on Earth. Some scientists believe that without earth’s magnetic field human life and other organisms would not have developed and would be extinct know. Few people know the effect it has on us and whether it makes a major difference in our lives. Earth’s magnetic field strength has been decreasing in the last few decades. So what kind of ramifications does the Earth’s magnetic field have on the Earth?
Ramifications on Animals
The earth’s magnetic field can have an effect on animals. Humans are not able to sense it, but research show that animals are able to sense the Earth’s magnetic field and use this to their advantage. Research has shown that sea turtles can sense this field and use it to help in their migration. Also, cows have been proven to line up south east while grazing. Although this is known, scientists do not know how it effects the cows and how they can use this to their advantage. Recently, thousands of birds died and fish died while migrating. Research shows that this is due to the Earths shifting magnetic field, which

Recently, economic activities are more active in some developing countries, such as China, India and Brazil. Moreover China is the second largest economy country only behind the United States. Most of this developing country did not concern about the environment issue, as a result more emission came out to the earth. For example, China has more than 200 million automobiles and as a speed of growth is about 13 million per year, meanwhile the United States has about 255 millions automobiles and the growth speed is more than 10 million per year. So, we can see how large pressure forced on the earth. It is clear that the globalization causes the climate change. Global Warming continues presenting on the earth and bringing many catastrophes to the earth. The polar bears most scientists think they are the first species in the world influenced by the climate change. Since the earth becoming warmer and warmer, the sea ice shrunk violently. As a result, the polar bear was threatened by those changes. More important thing is that if the situation still exists, polar bears will extinct in the future. This paper is focusing on the effect of the Global Warming on the polar bears’ habitat, behaviors and population.…

This is due to the wildfires, the global warming, and the land conversion. Animals are affected by wildfires because the fire may burn down their habitats and even kill them too. Furthermore, the animals are also affected by global warming because the animals that live in forests with the same climate as mine, they will need to live in a cooler climate, and if global warming keeps happening, the animals will not be able to live here anymore, and that makes me very sad. Last but not least, the animals are also being affected by land conversion because if their habitat is located where they are cutting down the redwoods, then they will have to move somewhere else. Animals are in great…

Earth's magnetic field is tilted a little bit. That angle is about 11 degrees. That's why the magnetic poles and the geographic poles are not in the same place. Earth's magnetic poles are far from its geographic poles. In 2005, the North Magnetic Pole (NMP) was about 810 km (503 miles) from the Geographic North Pole. The NMP was in the Arctic Ocean north of Canada. The South Magnetic Pole (SMP) was about 2,826 km (1,756 miles) from the Geographic South Pole. The SMP was off the coast of Antarctica in the direction of…

Magnets have impacted our present and our future more than anything else. Electricity would only be found in dreams, motors and engines unheard of. Without magnets hundreds of people would die because of a lack of medical equipment, the common cold could become as deadly as black death. Magnets are a very important part of our lives, without them we would still be living like cavemen. Furthermore magnets have evolved in their uses from the era of ancient civilizations to the future. Let's take a look at magnets through the ages.…

Earth is the only planet known to humans that contains life. Humans has affected the surrounding environment for thousands of years but we have started to drastically negatively affect the ecosystem such as burning trash, burying radioactive waste, overhunting of animals and many other things. We’ve affected our environment in many ways but the most impacting negative effects have been decreasing animal and plant diversity, pollution and contributing to climate…

They include things such as overall property and infrastructure damage. This happens due to raised sea levels which lead to flooding, wild forest fires, fluctuating electric issues and many others that affect home, government power lines, railroads, sea bearing vehicles and many more. Another thing in our economy that it affects is our crops. With the heating of the earth’s surface, many of the individual type of climates around the world are going through periods of fluctuation and change, especially those around the poles due to the rapid heating due to this heating. With this in mind, farmers and scientists are having to compensate financially for such issues and spend money on cooling systems and other devices meant to bring equilibrium to a farm. Raising the price for farming not only makes it harder for the farmers, but also for the consumer because that raises the price of crops. The economy suffers in this regard as…

Scientists know more than ever before about how the Earth’s climate is changing and what that will mean for people, habitats and wildlife across the planet (National Geographic, 2012). Glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, cloud forests are drying, and wildlife is scrambling to keep pace (National Geographic, 2012). This climate change is affecting our health as well as our economy. Lately, the earth has been showing many signs of climate change. It is not cooling down at all causing the presence of global warming. Global warming can be defined as “an increase in the earth 's atmospheric and oceanic temperatures widely predicted to occur due to an increase in the greenhouse effect resulting especially from pollution” (Merriam-Webster, 2012). This paper will explain why human activity is a substantial cause of global warming and discuss what can be done by the human race to stop global warming.…
