Sociology is a science that deals with the study of society and the social interactions taking place. It is concerned with the study of human societies and of human behavior in social settings. Sociology derived from Latin word “ socius “ meaning “ companion “ or “ associate “ , and “ logos “, a Greek word for “ study “. As a student who takes General Sociology I have obtained information through rigorous research that enables me to better understands our society and other societies. As we gain knowledge about our society and societies as well, we become more understanding, broadminded and tolerant. We can apply scientific methods and techniques to our daily living problems. This methods and techniques can be useful guides in the resolution of the problems in our daily life. Different information and principles that was being gathered by sociologists are utilized by other field of specialization that helps them to improve their knowledge in their work. To have a better outcome to their work. Sociological investigations are useful to government officials, community leaders to make law or ordinance that may help the life or the status of the community much better. Law enforcer maintain the peace and order in the community. Businessman and entrepreneurs have the knowledge about what are the needs of the people in the community, how the can help to rise the economic status of the community. Educators improve their skill how they can give a better a education and knowledge to everyone. The success of the community depends how the people in the community work not as one but work as whole. There is no social discrimination through their status in life, religion, culture and beliefs in life. People should know and understand the differences with each other. The government should treat the people equally there should be no poor and no rich. Every one of us has the rights to enjoy our life to the fullest. And everyone of us has the responsibility to help our
