advantages of technology in education
In the 21st century, technology has changed the ways in which we communicate and go about our lives. Very few educators would disagree with the notion that technology has dramatically changed the teaching and learning processIn the current age we live in, technology has become an important component. Every day there is some new gadget or software that makes lives easier and improves on the technology and software that already exists.
Technology is playing an increasing role in education. As technology advances, it is used to benefit students of all ages in the learning process.Technology used in the classroom helps students adsorb the material also future students won’t carry around big bulky backpacks filled with heavy textbooks, there would be e-books. In old times libraries were used, but so much of our research and learning is now more web-based. What used to take hours in the library to find, we find instantaneously.
Students use computers to create presentations and use the Internet to research topics for papers and essays. Students also learn to use the technology available to them in computer and tech classes. As technology advances, students have better access to educational opportunities like these. When something new and “better” is revealed, the “older” technology becomes more affordable, allowing it to be used in educational settings, even when schools are on a tight budget. Technology has also advanced to help children even before they’ve started school. Educational video games and systems for young children help them prepare for school and in some cases get a head start on their education.

According to the documentary, technology has helped schools have become an even greater environment for students to learn. Computers and the internet are able to help schools in ways we have never before seen. Students are able to access documents online from teachers through email and forums. And with a click of a button, students are able to read books online and find information about whatever topic they are studying in class. In this case, technology is making it easier for students to learn about new things rather than having to go to the library flipping through endless pages of books. As a result, computers have become ideal for the educational environment and according to Dretzin and Ruskoff when they analyzed a school in New York that had no computers, students did poorly in test scores. But once the school decided to use computers to keep students engaged in their class work, the school greatly increased their test scores and kept the students in school long enough to graduate.…

Today, the average person spends about 7 hours of their day using some form of media technology. (Communications Market Report) The statistics are even higher for children and teenagers, who spend about 53 hours using media technology a week. (Generation M2 Report) The excessive use of media technology can be attributed to anything from communicating on social networking cites to participating in tutorial sessions for classes. No matter the reason for using media technology, education officials have observed that the way young people learn has begun to change. For example, students (k-12) no longer have to read through encyclopedias to find out facts; instead they can simply search for facts on the Internet. Because of the change in learning, education officials have advocated for change in the traditional education curriculum. They want to move away from the traditional way of learning---books, paper, and pencils—to a more technological based curriculum.…

Modern day technology has permitted many schools to integrate technology into the classroom.
