Paragraph 2: Adolf Hitler was one of the worst dictators in history. He killed over six million Jewish people in the holocaust because he believed that they were a threat to the supremacy of the Aryan race. Adolf Hitler’s steps to dictatorship began in the August of 1914 when he was accepted into the German army. When Germany was defeated in 1918 he was outraged, as a result he decided to continue working as an officer for the military. He was assigned as an intelligence officer for the German Workers Party. As a worker there he picked up many of the anti-Semitism and nationalist ideas that he decided to base his dictatorship off of. He made strong alliances with both Germany and Italy in the Tripartite Pact and in October of 1941 he became the prime minister of Japan. As the prime minister of Japan he gave the orders to attack the United States in December of 1941. In the beginning of the war Japan had many great victories against the allied forces, but as the war went on Japan began losing and Japan began to crumple. Tojo Hideki was never able to become a dictator like Adolf Hitler or Benito Mussolini, but he came very close. Tojo Hideki lost his title of prime minister in July of 1944 even though many people thought that he should keep his position so he could be properly punished for the way he ruled. The next year Hideki attempted suicide by shooting himself to try and escape capture by US soldiers. He was trying to shoot himself in the heart but he ended up shooting himself in the stomach. As he was being taken by the US military police he muttered “I’m sorry it has taken me so long to die”. He was tended back to health and put on trial and found guilty of war crimes. So on that day on April twenty-fourth, 1946 he was hanged and
