Acupuncture is a form of complementary medicine practice in which thin needles are inserted through your skin to stimulate certain points on your body to relieve pain or as a form of treatment for various health conditions.
The origin of this ancient form of treatment that has been practiced for thousands of years can be traced to traditional Chinese medicine as a technique for balancing energy flow or life force known to the Chinese as qi or chi. Acupuncturists believe that when needles are inserted into specific points along those pathways, your flow of energy will re-balance.
