Accidental Murder Case Study
All murders aren’t intentional. Accidental murder is a killing done but under a reasonable belief that no harm was intended. You have the right to not be charged with murder if no illegal actions were involved in the incident.
Sometimes people are killed during the weirdest times. Did you know a man once killed at an NFL game? Back in 1979, a man named John Bowen lost his life to a demonstration during halftime at a Jets vs. Patriots game. The Electronic Eagles of the Radio Control Association of Greater New York were flying different types of model airplanes. Unfortunately, one shaped like a lawn mower bashed into the stands hitting Bowen and one other. In the passage it said it seemed as if Bowen had been “attacked by an ax” (Florio 2014).

Simpson was a star athlete until 1979, where he pursued his dream of becoming an actor (Harris, 2008). O.J.’s alleged murder of his former wife and her friend thrust him into the spotlight, catching the public’s attention, as well as every news station in the U.S. One factor that makes this case so notorious is that there were many flaws during the investigative process, and a lot of them lead to the outcome of Simpson’s freedom from his charges. Many of these investigative errors could have been overcome with rigorous surveillance of officers on the…

In terms of willfulness, first degree murderers must have the specific intent to end a human life. Perpetrators must have acted with malice or “malice aforethought” which includes a disposition or purpose and indifference to human life. His alibi was that he was away on a fishing trip when his wife disappeared, when just a few days later, her body and the remains of the fetus washed up upon the shores of the exact place that he claimed that he was fishing at.
