To demonstrate effective communicational skills one must use one to one interaction for example to communicate. This was done through acting skills such as hand gestures that can be used as a stimulus or signal to the other person to listen or to calm down. For example if two people are conversing and one is speaking in a loud aggressive tone, the other person can use hand gestures to make them calm and quieter. Furthermore to use interactive skills a person can use hand gestures once again to cater to the person’s emotional needs. An example of this in a health and social care setting can be, when a doctor is giving news to a family member that their spouse has passes away, using a pat on the pact can show emotive interaction to show respect of sympathy towards the patient.…

When one hears the words “sorority” or “fraternity,” what comes to mind? A big house, nice clothes, or even pillow fights? Some sororities may have these things, but that is not what they are about. Sororities and fraternities have been sweeping over college campuses for years and are beginning to take over even more campuses. Katie Lambert, who wrote the article How Sororities Work, stated, “For many, a sorority or fraternity can be a great way to make lasting friendships, build a smaller community within a university setting, and find opportunities for leadership and service.”…

Humans are social and diversely interactive beings. As a result, there is the frequent practice of touching during conversation. This touching may be the conscious decision of individuals, as well as simply a spontaneous form of expression or response. An operational definition of touching would involve the initiation of physical contact between two individuals; for example, shaking hands (Fowler and Fowler, 1969). A conversation involves communication between two individuals by word of mouth (Fowler and Fowler, 1969). Touching as a complement of conversation is very common, but much study has not been done to determine the underlying bases or principles that govern touching behaviour during conversation in the Caribbean, and more specifically, Jamaica. As a result, there is not much empirical knowledge in regards to touching behaviour and the variables that influence frequency (e.g. culture, nature of relationships, gender, age, class, etc.) in the Caribbean region.…

When the conversation is going to the end, people prefer a hands shaking with saying “goodbye” friendly. Maybe it is not necessary for the next meeting but in business situation, shaking hands is appreciated. The three-Dutch-kiss is also common, especially between friends or among people who know each other well. People kiss each other on the cheeks two or three times. The same with Vietnamese, they also shake hands when greeting, but they shake with both hands, one hand is also common but it has been westernized. Not only shaking hands but also bowing head slightly to show respect. Vietnamese are not just saying hello, to the elderly or to relatives, they have to add the title of the person they are speaking to, for example like: “ Hello, uncle ABC.” The way people use to greet each other is becoming synchronized, or another words is hands shaking is applied all over the world.…

of nonverbal communication. I will start with Kinesics (facial). In this church service people have happy faces and are worshiping God, some are bored because they don’t really understand what is happening; others are excited because God let them experience his presence, and last but not least mostly everyone have outgoing faces because our Pastor is singing a song that says there’s no better greeting than the greeting of Christian. People start to handshake and hug each other (Kinesics; Gestures). When it’s the pastor people use both…

France likes large gestures but Pakistanis are very simple. A single raised closed fist in Pakistan means that you take an erect penis up into your rectum. The Philippines are also very simplistic. In America we might signal someone to "come here" by curling an index finger toward ourselves repeatedly. Don't do that in the Philippines, where it's a gesture fit only for dogs and can get you arrested.Over in Japan they have the Animal. This is because Japanese don't like Koreans so they call them "animals" by extending four fingers of one hand in another person's face.…
