Abri-Ville Research Paper
The Fearsome Foursome

In the city of Abri-Ville, there are four heroes who protect the city. They call themselves The Fearsome Foursome: Lightning-Girl, Lightning-Boy, Ice-Girl, and Fire-Girl. At Abri-Ville Elementary School, they are known as Angela, Connor, Sara, and Sienna. Connor and Angela are twins with the power of super-speed, Sara has the power of ice and flight, and Sienna has the power of fire and flight.
One day, their teacher Miss Parovel was teaching when they heard a crackle coming from the Smart Board. The Evil Electro-Blade appeared. He hacked the city’s electrical system and connected to every TV, computer, Smart Board, and other electronic device in the city. He sent a live message: “Hello, Abri-Ville. I am about to attack the beloved Crystal Building, which is the most important monument in Abri-Ville. I am very ecstatic to see what you will do when the building is shattered. I am just calling to let Mayor Marina know that if she doesn’t hand over her power as mayor, I will shatter Crystal Building! Mwahahaha!”

Angela pressed a button on her watch and a PA announcement came on asking for the four students to be excused. The twins and the cousins all packed their bags and left as fast as they could. They headed towards Harmonic Hills, where their secret hideout was.
To transform, Angela clicked her lightning-bolt earrings, Connor clicked his lightning-bolt belt, Sara clicked her blue heart hair tie, and Sienna clicked the star pendant on her necklace. They all ran and flew to Crystal

College is much different from my high school in so many ways. In my high school we was always on the same routine. We had four periods a day and first period started at 7:45 and we was on a block schedule meaning our classes was an hour and thirty minutes long. We had the same classes everyday so more learning during the day and less homework. Immediately after school we had football practice four days a week and played on Fridays. High school Is a good preparation for college, even though while in high school you will never expect what happens in college. In high school your parents were more involved in what go on in your daily life, whether you get in trouble in class or you get sick at lunch.…

In 2004 a group of scientists found the partial skeleton of a new human species we had never seen before. Researchers called the remains LB1, also nicknamed the hobbit due to its small size. It was first believed that this new species, Homo floresiensis, was a descendent of Homo erectus that had simply dwarfed over time due to limited access to resources. However, newer studies have highlighted some of the more primitive characteristics of LB1, which lead scientists to believe that the hobbits branched off from the human family tree much earlier than previously thought.…

Saint José Ramón Agustín Pro Juárez, also known as Saint Miguel Pro, was born on January 13, 1891, in Guadalupe, Mexico. He was one of eleven children, the oldest boy. Sadly, four of his siblings died as babies or young children. From an early age, he was heartily spiritual, as well as mischievous; he constantly entertained his family with his humor and practical jokes. St. Miguel was a dauntless child and sometimes took his pranks and fun too far, putting him in several near-death mishaps. The third oldest in his family, St. Miguel was unquestionably very close with his older sister. After she entered a convent at age 20, he started to recognize his own calling to the priesthood. Though his father wanted him to continue with the family business, Miguel lived for God and entered the Jesuit novitiate in El Llano, Michoacán in 1911. He had been studying with the Jesuit priests for only a year when a religious revolution broke out in Mexico and by 1914, the Jesuits were forced to flee the country.…

Jefferson City, commonly referred to as “Jeff” or “Jeff City” and abbreviated as “JC” and “JCMO”, is the capital of the American state of Missouri. Originally called Lohman’s Landing, it started out as an unassuming settlement of explorers. In 1821, the town was declared state capital and subsequently given the name Missouriopolis, until in 1826 it was ultimately renamed after the third United States president Thomas Jefferson. Throughout its history, Jefferson City became prominent for the Missouri State Penitentiary, a prison that was opened from 1836 to 2004, earning the gruesome epithet of the “bloodiest 47 acres in America.” Today, Jeff City has a population of 43,079 and a wider metropolitan area of 149,807, which makes it the 15th largest…

The media today continually promotes a specific type of “gender role” and behavior for both men and women. It influences and corrupts the minds of both men, women and especially young teens when doing so. With that said it’s definitely a big part of creating social norms as well. Think about it, there are three common different types of media: television, films, and advertisements, which are shown almost everywhere. Like I mentioned before, gender roles for an example exist only because society chooses to accept them for what they are. Viewers must be aware of what the media is trying to push on them, especially females. For example, most women when appearing with their male actors on screen constantly are portrayed in roles that are…

Abdulrahman Taieb, April. 9, 2013 History paper: Abina Abina's Life A young slave girl called Abina Mansah lived in the British Gold Coast Colony (now Ghana) in 1876. She was born in Asante/Ashanti. Abina had been captured in Asante area, and enslaved in two houses in Asante, the first one was in the capital city of Coomassie at Eddoo Buffo's home and the second one in Asante territory of Adansi20. Abina's life events did not happen by accident. Everyone's life shaped by things or people around us for exmaple family, friends, and culture. Sometimes these things around us force us to shape our life and the way we are. Abina's life was shaped by some forces. Although there are many forces that shaped Abina's life, the most important two are slavery and imperialism. Slavery is an important force that shaped Abina's life. Africa had already an existing system of slave trade, before the European arrival, flowing across the Sahara to North Africa and Egypt to the red sea and Swahili coast of East Africa. Europeans got their slaves from African slaving networks. Some of the slaves went north to east Muslim or Hindu shippers. The demand for slaves in America rose because of the plantation agriculture began to spread. As a result, more and more slaves were sent to Africa's west Coast. Twelve and a half million African slaves shipped to Atlantic ports from 1525(the date of first trip from Africa to the Americas) to 1867) (when the last trip took place) ( WTWA, 495). Moving many Africans to the Americas, the slave trade resulted losses of sex ratios in both places because most of the slaves who…
