Abortion Is Not Murder in the Right Circumstances
Abortion Is Not Murder under the Right Circumstances

She was only twelve, only for a walk on the street right by her house when he got to her. The experience was terrifying and all she wanted to do was forget about it, forget about him on top of her, making her do things that should only be done with someone she loves. The rape is finally over and he lets her go after making her promise not to tell. A few weeks after the rape she still hadn't told, but started feeling woozy and nauseous in the morning; she went and consulted in her mother. After waiting out what she believes was a stomach flue for another few weeks she saw that her belly started to grow. She finally told her mother what had happen and the little twelve year old girl was 4 weeks pregnant. A heated discussion among students, parents and government officials is whether abortion should be legal. I recently read an article about a twelve year old girl who had been raped and had her child because no one gave her the option of abortion, her family felt that she would embarrass the family because it was morally wrong. Would it have been wrong for this child to theoretically murder her newborn? Murder is the act of taking another's life with malicious thoughts; it is also taking the life of another human being without medical supervision and by brutal ways. I believe that abortion is not murder if none of those three apply, in the right circumstance, abortion is not murder.

Abortion is the act of terminating a pregnancy. If a woman is raped and is impregnated by the rapist, I feel that she has the right to abort her baby. If that same woman is then outcast by society for having that abortion, that is morally wrong. Women are not always meant to have children, but they do. If the states made it easier to go through with abortion we would not have as many kids in foster care or abandoned. Another case would be that of a teenager making the wrong decisions. Children having children is not a good asset to our society. If a sixteen year old girl gets impregnated by her boyfriend who then leaves her, it is not wrong for this young girl to abort her newborn. A third case would be that of a child that is bound to have many birth defects. If doctors can see that a child is terminally ill, with many birth defects so that neither the child nor the family will have a normal life again, it should be the parent's choice to abort or not abort. Murder has malignant cause behind it, while women affected by abortion usually have regret, sadness and hopelessness. There are other instances in which abortion should not be permitted and it definitely would be murder in my eyes. For instance if a women is having an affair and becomes pregnant, she has no reasonable basis for aborting that child other than her husband. Also, at times women use abortion as a birth control which is morally wrong and should not be allowed. There can be a scanning process on why the abortion is taking place. Why is it not that the doctor performing the actual abortion is considered a murderer but the woman that has to make the decision is stereotyped as a terrible human being.

Nuss-3
What is murder? Murder is the unlawful killing of one human being by another human being with malice intent. Abortion is in most cases with no bad intentions; the person that chooses to have the abortion does so with good intentions for herself or the child. For a rape victim, a young girl, or a mother in fear of having a disabled child all the intensions for either herself or the child are only good. In some cases yes, it would be considered murder, if for one the fetus is older than the set date of 6 weeks, if the woman baby is the cause of an affair or if she just does not want another child. Also if a woman uses this method as a birth control and maybe even performs the abortion on herself instead of seeing a physician it could, in my opinion also fall under the category of murder.
When a woman uses the right methods for her abortion, a doctor, a well sanitary place and the right reasons, it is not murder. The rape victim, sixteen year old and the woman afraid of having a disabled child don't have spiteful thoughts towards their unborn children; if they chose to go with abortion they have the medical treatment and do not use brutality. All those are reasons why the cases listed above are not murder. Abortion in many cases is not murder, it should also not be considered morally wrong and women should not be frowned upon for it by society. Whichever opinion a person has, abortion is going to happen either way, so why make it harder for someone who really needs it. If someone disagrees with abortion, they should also disagree with the death penalty, voluntary euthanasia, and the decision whether or not to take someone off life support or not.

Some will say the aborted are not alive a fetus depends fully on the mother unlike human beings. Many say that if a women is having sex she should be responsible for being responsible for her actions. In reality by making the choice to have an abortion may be the most responsible choice for the mother bringing a baby into the world and not taking care of it is worse than having an abortion. In Kent’s Ethical Theory it states that if it is a self-contradiction or a contradiction of the will, you have a duty (perfect or imperfect) not to act according to that maxim. With that being said women who are raped should have abortions. Living with the guilt of being raped and having a living reminder of that vicious act is not fair to the victim. This also ties the person who raped the mother to the mother making them part of their family that in no way is fair to the mother or the baby. Using situation Ethics and staying on the topic of rape you could say that abortion is evil but may be the 'lesser of two evils' if a woman has been raped, abortion may be an act of love. If a mother is just unable to care for that baby or love it then what’s the point of having one and hating it or despising its existence. The mother might be trying to save the baby from a life that she feels she can’t give the…

Abortion is defined as: "the termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival." However, if only the debate over the abortion issue was as simple as the definition provided above. Much like every aspect of human life, a statement is neither right nor wrong, but simply left open for interpretation. There is no black and white in life, only gray areas. Some issues tend to provide us more gray areas than others. Abortion is a prime example of that. Those who refute abortion claim that it is the murder of a helpless baby who has not yet had the chance to live and function as a human being. However, the debate opposite it is just as fervent: it is a woman 's right to choose what happens to her body, and if she decides that she is not capable of bringing a child into this world, than she shouldn 't be forced to out of nature. Where do we draw the line between humane and inhumane, necessitated death and murder? When does a woman 's right over her internal reproductive organs become that of the government 's? Is abortion wrong or is it right? Are rape, incest, and potential fatality to the mother exceptions when abortion is "okay"? Are there truly any at all? So many questions are raised by such a fervent debate, that we must look at both sides of the issue to better understand it in a general, but yet thorough approach.…

Picture this: a fourteen-year-old girl is abducted and raped. After visiting a doctor, they inform her that she is pregnant. This girl is only fourteen years old. She is put into a situation that was definitely not her fault, but will become her burden. The young girl would have to care for that baby her entire life. Of course, if she were able to receive an abortion, there would be much less pain involved. Rape victims, as well as women who find themselves unable or unfit to raise a child, should have the right to an abortion.…

The moral gravity of procured abortion is apparent in all its truth if we recognize that we are dealing with murder and, in particular, when we consider the specific elements involved. The one eliminated is a human being at the very beginning of life. No one more absolutely innocent could be imagined. In no way could this human being ever be considered an aggressor, much less an unjust aggressor! He or she is weak, defenseless, even to the point of lacking that minimal form of defense consisting in the poignant power of a newborn baby's cries and tears. The unborn child is totally entrusted to the protection and care of the woman carrying him or her in the womb. And yet sometimes it is precisely the mother herself who makes the decision and asks for the child to be eliminated, and who then goes about having it done. It is true that the decision to have an abortion is often tragic and painful for the mother insofar as the decision to rid herself of the fruit of conception is not made for purely selfish reasons or out of convenience, but out of a desire to protect certain important values such as her own health or a decent standard of living for the other members of the family. Sometimes it is feared that the child to be born would live in such conditions that it would be better if the birth did not take place. Nevertheless, these reasons and others like them, however serious and tragic, can never justify the deliberate killing of an innocent human being.…

I feel in a case of rape, incest or a criminal act abortion should be an option for the woman. The woman has already gone through enough without the pain of having a child conceived out of a hateful act. In all other cases, my theory is if you think you are old enough to have sex you should be ready and willing to face your decision. I feel that abortion used as a method of birth control is wrong and should not be allowed. This brings up other ethical decisions such as sex education for teenagers and parents not being afraid to discuss sex openly with their children.…

Abortion is murder of an innocent life, and it is completely wrong in every way. There is no justification that could cover the fact that we are murdering our most defenseless human beings, and if anything we should be doing everything to protect them and keep them safe from danger, but yet some are doing the complete opposite. Abortion should never be an option, and one should never feel like abortion is the only choice because it is not the only choice. One must understand that abortion is not just, and people must come to their senses and realize the true outcomes of aborting a…

Abortion is a controversial topic for both men and women who find themselves facing the moral dilemma of whether or not to terminate a pregnancy. I feel abortion is wrong in many ways. Abortion to me is the same thing as murder. I feel that you are killing an innocent child who did nothing wrong to anyone. Some people say they choose abortion because they were raped and did not ask to be, which may be the truth, but the truth, that baby didn’t ask to be made either and wasn’t asked to be killed. There are plenty of people out there in today’s society that has been raped and have gotten pregnant as a result, but not all of them have gone through with an abortion. Those victims have learned to love their child even though they didn’t ask for the child to be born.…

A woman feels that she has authority to do what she wants with her body. Some of these women feel that they are not ready to take on the role of motherhood, have the financial means to raise the child, or have the support by a spouse or family members. In other cases, rape or incest resulted in a pregnancy that was not done willingly by the woman involved. These sets of women are those who look at abortion as a sense of redemption from the situation that they were put in. In other words, a quick fix is something they’re in search of. In the eyes of our society, it is stated that is just as much of the woman’s fault as is the man’s because they feel women contribute to the possibility of being raped whether it be by the way they dress or the environment they put their selves in. Victims in this situation feel as if they are at fault and put all the blame upon them which raises the chances of an…

Some people support that abortion should be illegal. For example, a woman who gets raped and finds out that she’s pregnant a few weeks after she got raped, should have the right to decide whether she wants to keep the baby or not. Also, a woman who cannot afford to have a baby because of the condition she lives should have the right to finish her pregnancy. For the case of the woman who got raped this baby could affect the woman in many ways. Even though the woman is going to love the baby, she will get reminded of what happened to her for the rest of her life because her daughter/son is the result of that rape.…

Ever since the idea/decision of abortion there has been arguments if it is moral are not. Very many people are strongly against it and state very good information on why but I'm pro abortion. I'm pro abortion because first of all it should really be up to women if its legal or not because its their bodies that have to go through the process of fetal extraction. There are some circumstances in which an abortion is needed. Lets say a high school couple happens to get pregnant they're not very capable to take care of a baby and be parents. A baby would compound the already existing problems a teen already has like school, sports, getting ready for college. Thats not life for a baby especially an unwanted one, what kind of quality of life is that for the baby or parents. What if the expectant parents of that baby aren't fit to be parents having problems with drugs and alcohol no one should grow up around that. If the baby did it could possibly follow in the corrupt footsteps of its failing parents and end up doing the same things. If women are forced to carry unwanted pregnancies to term the result is unwanted children which then when they grow up are at a disadvantage, and sometimes inclined toward brutal behavior to others. Now even God forbid let's say some woman had been raped and she has gotten pregnant because of that, she is probably going to want an abortion. This may sound vulgar and mean but what women would want to keep that baby and look at him or her and every day and be reminded of that time where she was highly helpless and being taken advantage of. No one should have to keep reliving that moment over and over again that would be very traumatic. Now the big problems why abortion should be legal came out in the 1973 case of Roe vs Wade. This case came along after women started having behind the scenes abortions where women had it done by coat hangers and dirty instruments to perform these highly dangerous procedures usually done on…
