Abortion: Dangerous and Deadly

Everybody on the earth has a soul; we all know that, that’s what makes us who we are, what we are, and what we will become. The real question is when exactly does our soul come into our body? Does it perhaps enter the body right exactly at the moment our own parents conceive us, or later on maybe right when we exit our mothers’ wombs? This is a question we might never know, so should we allow soon-to-be mothers to kill this child, this soul that doesn’t even have a chance to breathe one breathe, and in return, danger their own body. “Twenty-two percent of all pregnancies (excluding miscarriages) end in abortion” (Guttmacher Institute). When a woman decides to abort her baby, she doesn’t just kill that unborn child, but she puts herself in great risk for many things including breast cancer, mental stability, infection, hemorrhaging, bowel injury, and even risking the safety of future pregnancies. “Approximately 10% of women undergoing abortion will suffer immediate complications, of which about one-fifth are considered life threatening. Women who have multiple abortions face a much greater risk of experiencing these same complication” (Ashcofriendsforlife.org). “Women who have aborted have significantly higher rates of breast cancer later in life. Breast cancer has risen by 50% in America since abortion became legal in 1973” (abortionfacts.com). People believe that abortion and breast cancer are closely linked because of all the changes that a woman’s body goes through at that time. When a woman becomes pregnant her breast tend to swell quite a lot due to “the rising of hormone levels, responsible for the increase in blood flow, causing breast tissue changes. Breasts may feel not only swollen but also tingly, sore, and extremely sensitive to touch” (pregnancywizard.com). Once an abortion is done, the woman’s hormones would be all over the place for a while and could cause the breast to become smaller very quickly. “If this process is interrupted by an abortion - before full maturity in the third trimester - then more relatively vulnerable immature cells could be left than there were prior to the pregnancy, resulting in a greater potential risk of breast cancer over time” (Wikipedia.org). Breast cancer is a series disease and more frequently that not women do die from this if not caught quickly. After a woman gets an abortion they might feel so horribly of what they had done that they might become mentally instable.
Frequently after an abortion, women suffer a range of mental and psychological problems. These may include recurrent dreams of the abortion experience, avoidance of emotional attachment, relationship problems, sleep disturbances, guilt about surviving, memory impairment, hostile outbursts, suicidal thoughts or actions, depression, and substance abuse. These problems may occur days to years later. (Abortionfacts.com)
These are very series problems a woman could go through in which case could lead to hospitalization or even her death. If a woman were to undergo an abortion, and had fear for this side affect, there are a lot of abortion clinics that could help woman as well as councilors who are there to help one that needs it. Infection is another serious side effect one could have after receiving an abortion. “Mild fever and sometimes death occurs when there is an infection from an abortion. This happens anywhere from 1 in 4 women to 1 in 50 women… Infection in the womb and tubes often does permanent damage”(Abortionfacts.com). There are two different types of infection women could get after they undergo an abortion, pelvic inflammatory disease and cervical incompetence. The first one is a pelvic inflammatory disease, also known as PID. “The Fallopian tube is a fragile organ, a very tiny bore tube. If infection injures it, it often seals shut. The typical infection involving these organs is pelvic inflammatory disease… Pelvic Inflammatory Disease is difficult to manage and often leads to infertility, even with prompt treatment” (Abortionfacts.com). This common infection is caused when a doctor fails to remove all the tissue or the entire fetus from within a woman during surgery. A woman would be able to tell if she had this infection if after an abortion there is heavy bleeding, period like pains, inflammation, or a fever. Though if you catch this infection early enough there are a few antibiotics that a doctor could give to you to stop the infection, but they would need to surgically remove the rest of the fetus as well. The pelvic inflammatory disease usually leaves the woman infertile. The second type of infection caused by abortion is a cervical incompetence infection. This infection is more common in women who have an abortion later on in their pregnancy. “Normally the cervix is rigid and tightly closed. In order to perform an abortion, the cervix must be stretched open with a certain amount of force. This forced dilation almost always causes microscopic tearing of the cervix muscles and occasionally tears the uterine wall” (Life.org). Women who wait to get an abortion have to have their cervix stretched wider and for a much longer time than women getting an abortion earlier. This may cause your cervix to be weakened by being opened during surgery, and it might also cause tearing of the cervix, which would require internal stiches. This has been known to cause future miscarriages, premature labor and sometimes very fast labor of only a few minutes, which might put mother and baby at risk, depending on the circumstances. Hemorrhages are as well another side effect women could obtain after an abortion. A hemorrhage is when a blood vessel in someone’s body breaks causing a lot of blood to flow out of ones body, if a person has this they would need a blood transfusion right away. “One to fourteen percent of women require a blood transfusion due to bleeding from an abortion” (Abortionfacts.com). A hemorrhage can be caused during an abortion procedure if the uterus is in any way punctured. Abortion can also cause a woman to have a bowel injury.
If your uterus is perforated, your intestines can be perforated, too. This will cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fever, blood in stool, peritonitis (an inflamed, infected lining of the abdomen) and death if not treated quickly enough. A portion of the intestine may have to be taken out, and a temporary or permanent colostomy may be put in your abdomen. (Abortionfacts.com)
This sort of injury could damage and scar you for life. Women always need to look at the possible side effects after undergoing any surgical procedure. If a woman were to decide to have an abortion, she needs to realize that this can cause great side effects if she would want to get pregnant in the future. An abortion could cause all sorts of things for an example
You will be more likely to bleed in the first three months of future pregnancies. You will be less likely to have a normal delivery in future pregnancies. You will need more manual removal of placenta more often and there will be more complications with expelling the baby and its placenta. Your next baby will be twice as likely to die in the first few months of life. Your next baby will be three to four times as likely to die in the last months of his first year of life. Your next baby may have a low birth weight. Your next baby is more likely to be born prematurely with all the dangerous and costly problems that entails. (Abortionfacts.com) Before a woman should get an abortion from an unexpected or unwanted pregnancy they should get all the information, facts and side effects from an abortion. There are places all around the world in which one could find the best and “right” choices for them. For example any hospital anywhere have nurses and doctors that could and would talk about everyone’s choices and will actually set someone up with a birthing plan and the exact steps to take. This will make it extremely easy and stress free. Or if someone was to shy or just to young to talk to a professional they can find out more about abortion and even adoption on the Internet or in a public library. There are thousands of life changing stories about people who adopted or even where adopted, or have gone through the same experiences that one might be facing today. Abortion is a very dangerous and deadly thing that women do quickly before thinking about the consequences. Women don’t realize that after an abortion they can get breast cancer, or infections, they can all of a sudden become mentally unstable, have hemorrhages, bowel infections, and even cause them to have major problems with future pregnancies. Women should think before they do this, about the child growing inside, maybe the next president, and the dangers that go along with it. After all, our mother chose not to abort us, why not do the same for their grandchildren. Just give them a chance to live, and in doing this, it gives woman a chance to be healthy as well.

One of the major controversial issues confronting the society today is abortion. I chose abortion as the topic of discussion since it contradicts my values and beliefs. Abortion is the extraction of the human fetus from the mother's womb with an intention to end the life of that fetus prior to its natural birth. Most religious people believe that abortion should be completely banned. They agree with the idea that it is simply a type of murder and murdering a person is a crime and abortion is just a different type of killing. Some other, generally non-religious people believe that abortion should be not be banned and it should be a personal choice whether a women gets an abortion or not. There could be some cases where the women has no choice but to have an abortion and considering these circumstances some part of the population believe that abortion should never be banned.…

One of the most heavily debated and an unresolved issue of modern times is the horrific process of abortion. Whether or not one is Pro-Life or Pro-Choice, the supporters are very opinionated and continue to relentlessly defend their side; "undecided" practically does not exist. Despite some beliefs, a woman's egg is a human life prior to fertilization, abortions are done in extremely dangerous and harmful ways, and a woman suffers extreme psychological and physical effects after an abortion. Due to these facts, abortions should be deemed illegal.…

Abortion is the extraction of the human fetus from the mother's womb with an intention to end the life of that fetus prior to its natural birth. The controversy surrounding abortion is whether it should be legalized or not? In my opinion, abortion is morally and ethically wrong because it leads to violation of human rights. Life is precious and only it's Creator has the right to take it away. I chose this issue for discussion to bring to light many of the hidden facts and arguments, of which people are unaware and not very sensitive today. Three of the many aspects of abortion can be taken into consideration 1) Motives behind abortion 2) Pro life v/s pro choice. 2) The growth of the "Dead Baby Industry."…

In today 's society every time a person turns on the television, goes on a computer, turns on a radio, passes a billboard, or picks up a newspaper that person is bombarded with debates. There are many different debates and each debate with two parties both of which have two very different and sometimes conversational opinions. Everywhere a person looks they are faced with arguments such as president Obama 's affordable healthcare act, gay rights, the matters of the death penalty being legalized or illegalized in all states, and many more. In this paper I will not talk about any of the previously stated arguments. I will however talk about one of the most heated and controversial arguments of today. Before I continue with the debate I have chosen I am stating that I will not be sharing any of my personal opinions or views on the matter. I have chosen to discuss the debate regarding abortion and the two sides of the argument. I will explain both Pro Life and Pro choice and the fallacy both sides use when trying to gain followers.…

In lieu of an abortion some people decide to have the baby and then give it up for adoption. Some do not want children but rather than killing than aborting one can place the baby with a family better equipped to raise a child. Some say everyone deserves the chance for life. Not everyone is able to support another life other than their own or even want to take on that responsibility so they have the choice to give it to another family. Some couples cannot have children so getting a child trough adoption is a blessing. A fetus should have the same rights as any other human being (“Abortion”). If it gets to the point of a developed fetus the woman should…

Abortion is the most debated and contraverial topic in present. There has never been an issue which caused more disputes and conflicts within our society, than abortion. We can all agree that abortion is an incredibly complex issue. The opinion of the American people is also a lot more complex than "pro life" or "pro choice". According to one poll that was conducted by a Christian organization, seventy-five percent of Americans believe in "pro life" theory. According to another poll, which was conducted by a state medical board, concluded that the majority of Americans believe in a "pro choice" ideology. Who do we believe? There seems to be an obvious difference in the definition of the terms. I suppose it is possible to create unanimous definition of both terms, which will be approved by both sides, but until then our society will continue to fight a never-ending battle. I also believe that we would not have to fight over this issue if everybody fully understood the indisputable consequences, which would be caused by a ban on abortion.…

It is evident that abortion is an issue that will not subside. There are two completely opposite sides of this issue in which no compromise appears to be apparent. The controversy lies on whether or not we believe human life begins at conception. By definition, life does begin at conception. The definition of alive means that the being is growing, developing, maturing, and replacing its own dying cells. These are all characteristics which are held by a fetus. If life does begin at conception, by law, human life is guaranteed equal protection therefore making abortion illegal in society. However in society today, abortion is made legal.…
