One example that the tone is scared is when she said “Nothing happened,” Meg said. “That’s the trouble.”Here the tone is scared because in the story it sound like she was scared something really bad was going to happen. Another example that the tone is scared is she said “They can’t understand plain, ordinary love when they see it. Well, go on. What happened next?”. Here the tone is scared because as you read it in your head it sound so much like she is scared. A last example that the tone is scared is when she said Again Meg leaped up, and again Calvin pulled her down. “No! They’d have told us if he were dead! There’s always a telegram or something.
