A Wrinkle In Time Character Analysis
The main character in A Wrinkle in Time is Margaret Murry or more commonly, Meg. She is a highschool girl around the age of sixteen. Her personality is tomboyish and lacking of respect for her teachers. Her looks are plain and unattractive. She has mouse brown hair and drab features. However, she has big brown dreamboat eyes, but they are hidden behind her glasses. Her speech is unfiltered. She says what’s on her mind before thinking. Her actions are angry. She has a short temper and beats people up when they say something rude to her. Her thoughts are depressing. She thinks her life is miserable and she has no friends. The first conflict Meg encounters is having friends. Everyone thinks she is immature and weird. They constantly make fun of her family. They think her brother, Charles, is stupid because he never talks. In reality he can speak in perfect english at the age of five.

Mr. Murry is trapped on the planet of Camazotz. He is in a room in the main building in the center of town. He is in a column that you can see the inside of from the outside, but on the inside all is black. The way Meg finally gets through the column is by putting on Mrs. Who’s glasses. Mrs. Who gave them to Meg before they entered the town. Meg went into the column grabbed her dad and took him out of the column. There she greeted him with a hug for she had not seen him in seven years. A third problem Meg has is being frozen after tessering. Tessering, or wrinkling, is a way of transportation. It is being sucked into the fifth dimension and skipping the distance between two places. Meg is frozen after her dad tessers Calvin, himself, and her away from Camazotz as discussed earlier. Calvin and Mr. Murry are fine, but not Meg. Mr. Murry is not very good at tessering and passed Meg through The Black Thing by accident. The three of them tessered onto an unnamed planet where beasts took them in and revived Meg back to
