A Voice In The Wind Analysis
This world, the earth, seems crazy at times to me. We hear about Christians being persecuted, tortured and/or killed for their faith in God. Most of these occurrences happen in other countries but the United States is not free from persecution of Christians. Christians in the United States are even bullied by people like atheist Richard Dawkins who believes that Christians should be mocked and belittled for believing in God. This scares me sometimes because I am a Christian and I believe people should treat each other with kindness. I definitely don’t want people to mock and belittle me or other Christians. However, I know God wants us to spread his good news even when we are scared. Jesus tells us in 2 Timothy 4:2 to, “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction” (New International Version). One of the characters in this book, with the name of Hadassah is a Christian who was scared to share her faith. She had every reason to be scared because she lived in a place where being a Christian could be a death sentence. She spread God’s goods news through her unwavering faith in him. Despite how she was treated, by the family she served and outsider, she always responded with kindness. She wanted to help people, so she did by helping them to heal when they were sick, much like a nurse does today. People couldn’t understand how someone, like her could still believe in God even when faced with death. They threw her in an arena full of lions but she still had courage because of her faith in God. I know this book is fiction but I believe there is some truth in it. There are many times that I have felt God presents when faced with difficult times.
