In this lab, I played with a group of children when they were representing different characters. The children represented the Zompies character, and one boy came to me and said, “I will eat your hart”. Also, they played Ninga and they hide their faces. I helped the teachers to organize the classroom, and sat with the larger group when they play. I tried to help the children when they had conflicts with other peers and give them simple and clear instructions. In addition, I did a lesson plan to the children and they have to manipulate their hand by using clay to create their first letters, and I think they had interest with it.…

I would do an activity like this after checking for prior knowledge (a story about zoo animals or a field trip to the zoo). In addition to open-ended questions and guessing games, I play the “Memory game.” First we look at all the pictures (starting with about twenty cards or ten mates). Then we place the cards face down and I model by picking up a card and turning it over. Then I turn over another and then the first child follows what I modeled. The children really enjoy this game. Their memory starts kicking in once I turn over quite a few…

This activity would support communication and intellectual development, because the children all need to communicate with each other deciding who is going to take what role; the song/story also helps develop listening skills. The children need to listen and think about what comes next and decide when it is their turn to either hide their duckling or let the old lady swallow their animal this is the intellectual part of the activity. Every child is different but this activity may cover a specific aspect to support a child’s individual communicational or intellectual development need.…

I observed Mr. Dave’s pre-k class at Montclair pre-school. I arrived at the classroom at 8:00 am to accessed the classroom as well to speak to Mr. Dave. We reviewed the day’s plan as I helped him clean up. While cleaning around the room I noticed how colorful the room was. There were: banners of letters and numbers hanging on the wall, as well as a large alphabet carpet on the floor for the kids to sit on, toys to play with and books to read. As the children arrived, they removed their belongings and placed them in the cubbies. Afterwards, they grabbed their name tags and set their lunchboxes on the lunchbox table. I played with the kids until class started at 9:00…

    2. Polishing skills: The children are given small spray bottles with a small amount of oil (for wood and silver) or water with a small amount of windex. Children are shown how to spray appropriate amounts on the object and then how to polish with a cloth using circular motions. Teacher puts on apron and bring all required materials in a basket. This exercise is to observe first and then imitate in their own way. The role of the teacher is to demonstrate first and then define the control of error like “shiny and no polish left on the item or on the mat when finished”. This activity is all about using containers to place dirty cloths and bins to put used disposable materials, like cotton. Encourage children to wash used plates or saucer and place it back in the basket of items for reuse. Cleans the messy mat and remove apron to hang on appropriate hook. The purpose is to gain concentration,…
