A Case Study Of Lily Doane's Collaboration
Lily Doane has wanted to open her own business in the hair industry for a while now. She has developed long-standing relationships with her clientele over the past 12 years working at her sister’s upscale hair salon. Recently, she decided it’s time for her to take the leap and branch out on her own. However, she did not have enough funds to purchase a salon at the moment and had to rent a mini salon to service her clients. Her schedule was always booked, and she wouldn’t turn down walk-ins clients. Sometimes, she had to work on two or three clients at once and it was quite a challenge when she had got such a small space to work with.

They followed her and some of them took their time to track her down after she left her sister’s salon. Her clientele loves her because she stays updated on all the latest trends so that she can consistently provide excellent service to them. She listens and provides expert advises. Most important of all is that she is efficient with time and get them out in a timely manner. Now she has to run the business all by herself and at the same time trying to build more clients is the biggest challenges she has to face. She will take walk-ins even when her schedules are fully booked, which result in a longer wait for clients that have an appointment and spend the unexpected extra time at the salon.
I went to Lily’s salon a few months ago to get my hair colored. I arrived 15 minutes prior to appointment and assumed to stay there no more than 2 hours. I ended up spending an extra 2 hours because she took in 4 walk-ins client while I was there. Lily and I are long-time friend, I envy her enthusiasm and her passion for the hair industry and I will definitely return to support her business. However, I am worry that most of her clients, especially the new clients wouldn’t if she don’t re-evaluate her business
