8th Grade Kidnapping Event THE AMAZING RACE

Anthony J. D'Angelo Goals:
● 8th Graders will feel more included in HOTTY
● 8th Graders will feel like they want to join HOTTY for all of eternity
● Upperclassmen will absorb the 8th graders into our Kehilah Objectives:
● 8th Graders will meet the upperclassmen and get the feel of how HOTTY does
HOTTY
● HOTTYites will enjoy a regular HOTTY event while also mingling with their new members Materials:
● Havdallah Kit
● clues for each location (Appendix A)
● 40 Envelopes (six clues, eight teams) with the Amazing Race logo either taped or drawn on for clues to go inside
● car assignments & directions to each 8th graders’ house
● signs for 8th graders (posterboard)
● markers for decorating signs
● materials for cupcake wars

○ tablecloths

○ premade cupcakes (8 per group64; made ahead of time at Elyssa’s house the day of)
○ plastic knives, spoons and forks for spreading and mixing

5 score sheets (Appendix B) and maybe clipboards to make us look official snacks for when groups arrive at TBT

List of teams (look at People) materials for havdallah: 1 glow necklace/person
Goodie bag materials
○ HOTTY & NFTY cheer sheet
○ NFTY Dictionary sheet
○ Freshmen rep Info sheet
○ Candy (HOT tamales, red HOTs, Fire balls, etc.)
○ We SAR family tshirts or water bottles
