4.1 Schedule Of Traffic Light For Normal Sequence
CHAPTER 4
RESULT & DISCUSSION

The traffic light was designed on three junction. The traffic light changed from green to yellow, yellow to red, red to green and continuously followed the program coding. PWM and interrupt use on the LED of traffic light. The interrupt function to bother the brightness of LED based on PWM. PWM act at all traffic light to control the brightness of LED.
4.1 Schedule of traffic light for normal sequence For the first condition, the route of C and A will green if sensor (car) not trigger at route B and route D. For the second condition, route D and B traffic light was red. When a car have on route B, route C traffic light will become from green to red for 25seconds. Traffic light on route B will become green,

This sequence will be continue over and over. Route A is always green. The time delay for green light, is 9seconds. For Red is 5seconds. The simulation are successful according with the program coding.

Table 4.3: Table of green light and red light of traffic light for turning lane for 10 seconds
The system is implemented as the above table 4. The green light of the traffic light 1 and 4 is ON and the red light of the other traffic lights are ON except for the traffic light 1 because of using free lane. The duration time for traffic light to change are 10 second.

You have to put your ID cards over the detectors (event trigger) and they then execute the code for the barriers to open or closed. If the ID card is accepted, the code will be run for the light to change green and for the barrier to open but if the ID card isn’t accepted, then the code will be run for the red light to show and the barriers will not open. An event driven programme here is not really suitable here as it can take a long time for the card to be checked and this can cause long queues of people. Also, people go in and out from the same direction so this can also be a problem as someone may wanting to go out and someone may wanting to go in.…

G.A. Morgan also impacted our transportation system. Morgan patented the three-position traffic signal in the year 1923 (Lawrence, 1998). Before his invention, the traffic lights only had two settings which were red for stop and green to go. However, the quick changes caused an increase of traffic accidents at busy intersections. Morgan’s invention included three positions: stop, go and an all direction stop setting (Lawrence, 1998). This third option stopped traffic, allowing a smoother transition in traffic while allowing a safer passage for…

Traffic modeling in a sense is an overview of general traffic flow calculations. It provides a blueprint and a layout of incoming and outgoing traffic with a formula to calculate the timing of overall cars involved within the traffic flow. With the vast roads and streets managing traffic can be difficult without the proper calculations. Mathematical functions can be ways to express simplicity with the eliminations of difficult equations through the use of practical formulas.…

Conflict monitors are an essential piece of equipment in traffic signal installations for many reasons. They are designed to monitor many different aspects of operation inside a traffic signal cabinet. From voltages to timings, they actively scan for faults and dangerous situations that could arise from faulty equipment and electrical shorts. As a safety feature, they will trigger a flash situation at an intersection to notify a technician of an undesirable or unsafe operation, and also act as a safety warning for motorists.…

Traffic signal controller system is important part of the solution. This system consists of a central Traffic Signal Controller System (TSCS) and traffic signal controllers (traffic lights already have builtin components to be remotely controlled some sensors and cameras will be added when necessary) which are fundamental parts of traffic management system. TSCS provides remote control of traffic signal controllers from a central location. TSCS will monitor the status of traffic lights, retrieve loop data, synchronize lights clocks so that they can run in a coordinated…

    Traffic Management

With the increase in urbanization, many cities around the world are experiencing a very rapid growth in the number of vehicles which lead to serious traffic congestion problems. This places a greater demand on operating roadway systems with maximum efficiency. One major factor that affects the traffic flow is the management of the traffic at road intersections. Hence a good traffic management system is needed to maximize the efficiency of the traffic flow. “Traffic Signal” mainly controls the traffic at various junctions. This is specialized software designed to control heavy traffic very easily by changing the lights at regular intervals. The project “Traffic Signal Management” facilitates easy control of heavy traffic which uses three lights Red, Yellow and Green. The lights used to indicate the signaling. A flashing RED light indicates STOP. YELLOW indicates BE READY and lastly GREEN indicates GO. Lights changes automatically at regular intervals of time. This task is done by using separate variables for each light. Firstly, RED light appears for 21 seconds i.e. it appears from count equal to 25 to 3. Next when count becomes 3 RED automatically changes to YELLOW and it glows for 4 seconds i.e. up to count becomes 0.When count becomes 0,light changes automatically to GREEN and it glows for 25 seconds.…
