3 Day Diet Analysis Report
3 Day Diet Analysis Report

I would describe my current eating habits as poor and unhealthy eating habits. Sometimes I eat healthy, but I noticed I will probably eat once a day and it will probably be something light. Sometimes I will let my insecurities take over my eating habits because I think I’m eating too much or gaining weight. Even though I barely eat I still cook for my son because I do not want him picking up on my bad eating habits. When I do cook for him I make sure I cook two vegetables and a meat for him. My son is very picky, but he is getting better with his eating habits as the days go by. We like to eat more breakfast foods than anything. Every morning I make sure I cook my son breakfast and have dinner ready after school. My eating habits depends on my busy schedule.
When comparing what I consumed on each given day against the recommendations by the Super Tracker it shows that I maintain a mixed balance of the recommended amounts. Looking at my first daily intake I do excellent in milk, meat and beans, total fat, and cholesterol amounts. In grains I do alright but can use some improvement. In vegetables, fruits, saturated fats, and sodium I do poorly. On my second daily intake I did excellent in milk, total fat and cholesterol. I need improvement in grains, saturated fats and sodium. I do poorly in vegetables, fruits, milk, total fat and cholesterol. On my third daily intake I did excellent in meat and beans and saturated fats. I need improvement in grains and sodium. I do poorly in vegetables, fruits, milk, total fat and cholesterol. I consumed from the various food groups either none at all or up to about half the recommended amounts in almost all categories. I was pretty consistent in reaching the recommended for milk, meats and beans.

I would modify my diet to get the recommended servings for each food group by adding the foods that Im missing from my diet. I would add serving of fruits and vegetables that I was sorely

How does your diet compare to the recommendations you received from the Food Guide Pyramid? I just recently decided that I was going to start eating healthier. I am not on a diet! That is just too much stress. However, I have made quite a bit of progress with changing how I eat. The recommendation that I got were not that off of what I’m trying to accomplish. I need to eat more fruit and vegetables. I have been doing well with the grain and fiber intake. I need to do better with my sodium intake, which is still a little high, but is much lower than what I used to consume.…

Diseases consume third world countries, due to the lack of proper nutrients. Protein is the most important contributor to the overall wealth of the human body. “Protein is necessary for the building and repair of body tissues. It produces enzymes, hormones, and other substances the body uses. It regulates body processes, such as water balancing, transporting nutrients, and making muscles contract. Protein keeps the body healthy by resisting diseases that are common to malnourished people. Protein also prevents one from becoming easily fatigued by producing stamina and energy” (Georgetown University, 2013). Over the last three days Iprofile was…

We’ve heard time and time again during our lives how important it is to eat fruits and vegetables or to have a well-balanced diet. We also know how hard it can be to ensure that you are eating enough of the right thing. Are fast food restaurants as bad as people make them seem? How do you know if your diet contains all of the essential vitamins and minerals? The answers to both of these questions lie in the results from the three-day food intake assignment I participated in. Using the information I recorded in IProfile, I was able to record my intake of protein, carbohydrates and lipids, the amount of fiber intake, and notice pattern or trends in my diet that could be modified.…

She is now getting 41.3 grams of fat in a day. The American Heart Association (2013) recommends that a person should not eat more that 25 to 35 % of fat in their diet a day and of this amount no more than 7 percent of it should be saturated fats. This writer can reduce she total daily intake of fats by consuming more food that are low in saturated fats. Also, she can cook her foods with oils like corn oil, canola oil, and olive oil. We needed some fats in our diet to help provide a source of energy. It is also, used by the body to absorb certain vitamins from food we eat. This writer should be getting 25 grams of fiber a day in her diet (K. Zelman, 2011). Right now she is only getting 12 grams which is only 48.2 % of the daily recommended amount. By not having the right amount of fiber in her diet can lead to constipation, higher LDL levels, and high blood sugar levels. In turn this can lead to colon cancer and diabetes. She can reduce her chances of these diseases by eating more dark green leafy vegetables, corn, nuts, whole wheat products, beans, and…

The results for my new diet when compared to the recommendations from the SuperTracker are very bad indeed. I am not eating enough grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy or protein foods. An average for the amount of grains I consumed was 6 and a half ounces which is 2 servings each of these days. I consumed one and a half cup of fruits and vegetables which is about 2 servings on Saturday. I did not eat any other fruit during this three day period. I also consumed a quarter cup of dairy. From the proteins foods group, I consumed 2 and a half ounces and from the oils groups which is not a serving at all, but when this measured is about 2 teaspoons.…

I am not a picky eater or one who watches what I eat. I enjoy cooking and I love to eat food that is bad for me. My favorite meal is fried pork chops, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn, turnip greens and corn bread. I am from the south where we use food as a comfort item. When we are happy, sad, mad or just board we eat. We have festivals to celebrate the food we eat. My diet is way off the SuperTrackers recommendations. I eat mainly one meal a day sometimes two. I do not eat a lot of fresh fruits. I need to stop drinking so many soft drinks and I should take out the sugar in my tea. I consumed little to no fresh fruits on a daily basis. I eat a lot of protein, but still not what I should eat daily I only ate around 40% of what I should have. One thing I should do is eat more of the good foods and do less snacking during the day. I am going to make myself a promise to eat at least one fresh fruit a day. I went and bought strawberries and cantaloupe so I can eat a little better. I know this is only a small fix and will only work if I stick to it. I can start to measure my food portions so I do not over eat. This will help me watch the amount of fats and starches that I take in. I love broccoli and could eat more of it, it is full of fiber and nutrients that are good for me.…

The basic Bar graph report compared my intake values to the recommended intake values for my age, gender and activity level; overall, the comparative bar charts showed that for most of the values, I was close to the recommended amounts. However, a few nutrients that I was over consuming were protein, saturated fat, cholesterol, and vitamins B2 and B12. Other than cholesterol, all the consumption values for the other nutrients were at 200% or more. For vitamin B2 and B12, this was not too concerning, because no upper limit for these vitamins have been set yet, for toxic side effects from these vitamins have yet to be documented. The high levels of saturated fats and cholesterol in my diet most likely stem from the high amount of animal products (milk, cheese, and meat) that I consume. The overconsumption of these nutrients can increase my blood cholesterol levels, and increase my risk for cardiovascular disease. Though as I discovered through my blood analysis, I have optimal levels of blood cholesterol, which I believe is because I am an active person, and exercise regularly. With regular exercise, my muscles will be using ATP, which is produced from saturated fats, so by exercising my…

“There 's a lot on MyPlate, but there shouldn 't be” (Amarante, June 05, 2011, expression 1). My essay will cover the recorded nutrient report from the foods that a typical college student had eaten during in the past three days. The web-based nutrient report that the college student used to record his meals was from MyPlate. “MyPlate is the current nutrition guide published by the United States Department of Agriculture, depicting a place setting with a plate and glass divided into five food groups.[1] It replaced the USDA 's MyPyramid guide on June 2, 2011, ending 19 years of USDA food pyramid diagrams.[2] MyPlate will be displayed on food packaging and used in nutrition education in the United States”("MyPlate," 2011, p. 1). The report basis a calorie count should not exceed 2600 calories for a male who is 43 and exercises at a minimum of 30 minutes daily. The student can determine his dietary reference intake (DRI) sum of each nutrient calculated, enabling him to know when he is over or under his target of 2600 daily calories.…

My Pyramid was not that shocking, when I saw Grains, fruits, vegetables, milk, meat, and bean intake compared to the recommendation. Personally, it made sense of what I was meeting and what I was missing, yet, have done nothing about it. I love my grains, even though I am a celiac. I do not really follow the guidelines and still chose to eat a lot of grains. This was at 10. Oz and I met the required intake for grains. The vegetables I tend to eat are broccoli, carrots, and from time to time I eat cauliflower. So, I was at 1.2 cups of vegetables compared to the recommended intake of 4.0 cups. I already knew I hardly reach the fruit intake that happened to be zero percent. I have never been a big fruit person, besides eating apples to keep the doctors away. Got milk? Of course, I always drink my milk when I eat all the grains out of the cereal bowl. Thus, I was at 1.5 cups compared to 3.0 cups of the recommended intake. Lastly, meat and beans I was at 5.5 oz and cheated, because I ate at taco bell! Overall, the above groups did not surprise me and did show me how far I still was to reaching the food-list compared to the latest USDA Dietary guidelines.…

According to "English- Word Information" (2003), “Part of the secret of success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside” (Quotes: Eating, Food). During the past three days I have been keeping a journal of my meals in order to determine my intake compared to the daily recommended intake (DRI). The results I am about to share with you were very surprising to me.…

    Essay On Diet Analysis

I consumed .7 cup of the recommended value of three cups and not one cup. I need to add a lot more vegetables within my diet and maybe just little less in protein to have a balance of nutrients. I do not eat close to the recommended value. Even though this was a three day experiment, the data I believed would have been a lot closer. For the Myplate category for fruits, I am very close to the recommended value of two cups daily. I consumed 1.2 cups to the recommend value of three cups. I do not think I need to make a drastic change since I am only a half a cup a way in the fruit portion. The last focus on my plate is my dairy consumption. I am not supposed to have any dairy in my diet so this is going to be the hardest for me to meet the recommendations. Dairy is the main source of calcium (book quote). Dairy is connected with getting enough calcium for our bone strength. Since I do not get enough I can develop bone fragility or osteoporosis (Calcium, 2015). To make up for the nutrients I am losing without having dairy in my diet I can add nutrients such as canned salmon that contains 181mg of calcium in a 3 oz. portion (book page). I need to adjust my diet to make sure I am getting the benefits from each of the MyPlate food groups. Below is the chart collected on my data for MyPlate…
