Why I chose this song;
All though my parents never got a divorce I feel a connection with different pieces of the song and I thoroughly enjoyed the way he expressed his emotions throughout the song in words I would have never thought of using. The song is very vocal with a quite instrumental background that ties it all together, he uses so much emotion and power in his singing that it’s hard not to feel the same emotions he is feeling in this song. He talks about his parents fighting and him trying to keep them together which I feel like most children have tried to do when their parents are fighting.

    I like how he narrates the story, too. The one with young love. The way the author showed us him walking down with his girlfriend while he was narrating the story is a great technique. The piano in the background is another good technique.…

    The music of Bruce Springsteen had a huge impact on the author’s life, which find himself struggling to please his father. Hence, The passion with Bruce Springsteen started when Amolak recorded a cassette for author. Bruce Springsteen’s music was extraordinary because its lyrics where crafted for true purpose, a unique sensation in which the sorrows of its voice entered into the acoustic meatus of the author. He stated that “as I listened to Bruce Springsteen I realized this was like nothing I had heard before” (92). The sound was called “Growin up”. This sound opened his mind but it was the lyrics who had impact upon the author life. The author expresses that “This was not a song, it was a spoken words introduction to a song; it was man…

    What Is Grammy Worthy

    Purpose is a fantastic album that is Grammy worthy . It ranges from dance songs to " soothe " songs that show his amazing vocals . I didn't like the fact that most of the songs have the same beat which can make the album seem kind of-of annoying . I want to know which song you prefer No Sense or No Pressure ? I did go to his concert when he came to Miami , and it was lit I just wished that he spent more time singing than dancing . I give the album an 8/10 because some of the songs have the same beat . If you want to buy an album that has romance , inspirational songs , and dance songs then this is the album for you…

    I agree with Morgan’s claims because writing and singing are outlets for people to express their emotions and issues. I feel that lyrics all have a deeper meaning and purpose to them than just the actual words being said. Morgan makes valid points and explains and addresses…

    The song 7 Years is very important because it shows he had a good relationship with his parents and wants to have a good relationship with his kids. People should just be more sensitive to people who don’t have a nuclear family. Nuclear families just aren’t very common anymore. This also goes along with the saying “don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” Most of the time no one knows what is really going on at home or how someone’s family is. Some people may not even have any family, so before you get angry that someone has a different opinion than you, try walking in their…

    The first song I chose, “Grace is Gone” by the Dave Matthews Band, tells the story of a person who had fallen in love and was left by the other person and is now extremely bitter. The vivid lyrics of this song paint a picture of loss, loneliness and sorrow, and help to portray a strong central theme of hopelessness and…

    Throughout the years there have been many songs that have had meaning to me, but the one I would consider my favorite would have to be Demi Lovato’s “Warrior”. The writers of this song are Demi Lovato herself as well as Andrew Goldstein, Emanuel Kiriakou, and Lindy Robbins. There are many reasons behind why this is my favorite song. Some of it stems from Lovato’s story, and all of the things she has been through. The other thing that makes it my favorite is it hits home for me.…

    Taylor Swift Analysis

    I found this song to contain many musical concepts to create pleasing sounding song. The song features a homophonic texture by using Taylor Swift's vocals and accompaniment with her guitar. The beat and the rhythm in this song are very pronounced, the steady repetition of the majority of the same phrases. However she does differ in the throughout the song, for example at 12:14 the beat becomes noticeably spread apart from the previous sections. The beat continues to keep the time of the song up but there appears to be less beats per measure. The texture gives the song a simple and clear feeling and melody. The homophonic texture in the song highlights the melody played. The melody in 22 appears to be disjunct as her vocals range from low to high. In the video 12:52 is a good example of Taylor Swift using the disjunct melody. I feel that her use of melody gives the song depth and provides an upbeat feeling for the listener. I found that the main instrumentation in the song were from the string family, the guitar, the electric family, for the keyboard and use of her voice. I found that the pitch of the song remained at a relatively average speed throughout the song. Overall, I feel that Taylor Swift beautifully executed her song by using musical elements and her talent as a…

    “Music is the window to the soul.” This quote holds true because many times words alone can’t touch someone but when you add the accompaniment it speaks volumes. I received the song “Suggestion” by Fugazi, and when I listened to it for the first time I just thought it was another song. As I listened to the song more and more and focused on the lyrics and the rhythm, the song started to speak to my soul. This song is all about violence on women in the forms of rape, sexual harassment, violence, and street harassment.…

    It was relatable for me, not because I have had an abusive relationship, but because I was a dancer. I quit dance about a year and a half ago due to a foot injury. I broke five bones in my foot and was in a cast and boot, but that’s another story. Dancing was a great passion of mine and when I quit it devastated me. Researching and writing my journal about “My Papa’s Waltz” let me submerge into my old dancing world that I love. Reading this poem gave me insight to the abusive life of a child that I have never seen before. I really liked this poem because it wasn’t like the usual poems about seasons or…

    Come Wake Me Up

    The song I chose to critique is a popular country song called “Come Wake Me Up” by Rascal Flatts. Personally, Rascal Flatts is one of my favorite country bands, and even though I am young, I feel like I can relate to the lyrics of this song because I too sometimes feel as if everything is just a dream. Dreams were I am eager to wake up just so it can be all over and be back to normal. Dreams were nothing feels real or you couldn’t possibly imagine of happening to yourself. Being “too young” to me doesn’t determine what you’ve been through on a relationship level. Through the entire song, I feel like the lyrics were in my head before on a Rascal Flatts album, only rearranged in a way simpler to understand. Lyrically, you could not put words in a more perfect arrangement to make this song seem as if it was made personally for me.…

    Reaction to my own feeling, after I listened to this song I feel the same like Michael Buble’s feeling too. This song shows us the feeling of the actor who goes away from his family. As a result, my own self when I first arrived at Phnom Penh, I felt very homesick that’s why I wanted to come back home. Moreover, I feel so sad for this man who leave from there family because he have to do his jobs at abroad.…
