The Second Speaker’s position is special as it provides an ideal opportunity to evaluate the overall stance taken by the ppposing team and provide critique on the general approach taken by the opponents. This evaluative process is especially useful for the Third Speakers in framing their rebuttals and for the Summary Speakers to frame their Reply speeches. The Second Speakers are also in a good position to add new dimensions to the debate by developing their argumentation further. This allows the team to broaden the scope of the debate and demonstrate that its approach to the motion does not rest on a single line of argumentation or logic. For instance, if the debate has focused mainly on economic issues, the Second Speakers can switch to more social or political perspectives.

Good morning
I am the 2nd speaker for the opposing team. The topic of “students should wear school uniform and follow rules made by only adults” can be divided into two parts.
The first part being “students should wear school uniform”. The proposing team said that students should be forced to wear uniform because they would be bullied if they wore civilian clothes. However, uniforms do not change the fact that bullying will still exist. Students will be bullied not by what they wear, but among other things such as their gender, weight, height, facial features or even their skin colour. Uniforms are not effective, there are many schools where bullying still exists and has not decreased at all. These uniforms can create more social tension by causing others to judge you with new and improved bullying ideas and tactics.
