1 UBCOM Assignment Question Marking Scheme
COURSEWORK ASSIGNMENT (100%)

This assignment is to be completed in groups of 3 students.

All the members of the group must contribute for all work in the group section.
Workload matrix MUST be provided for all group component sections. Marks will be allocated as given below.

SECTION ONE (60%) – INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT

Each student will be assigned ONE of the following topic areas for research:

Topic Area 1 - “Intelligence & Meaning In Ubiquitous Computing”

Topic Area 2 - “Agents & Ubiquitous Computing”

Topic Area 3 - “Security &/Or Ethics In Ubiquitous Computing”

You will do preliminary research for one week on the topic area assigned to you and submit a proposal for a suitable research paper title which should include background reading, reason for selection of the title and approach you will take to writing the research paper. You may also include a synopsis or abstract of your proposed paper. (By week 3)

Once your paper proposal is approved, you will be given three weeks to do research and write a fully referenced research paper of 2,000 to 2,500 words suitable for submission to an academic journal. (By week 6)

Specific instruction for your submission are as follows: The paper should be submitted in two copies, one set should contain the topic area, specific title of your paper and the last 5 digits of your id number, and no other identifying sign such as your name, to be used for peer evaluation. The other set should contain the same information as above, but must contain your name. This will be marked by the lecturer.

You will be allocated a paper written by one of your peers, with only id number as given above and given one week for you to review this based on the research paper evaluation sheet as provided to you. (By week 7)
