1.3 Shunamite Woman

Elisha came in contact with a great woman at shunem, most times the man of God was entertained during his frequent visits , this story in in the book of 2 kings 4:8. This woman made a sacrifice which led to her blessing:

In 2 kings 4: 9-10

‘And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.

Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.’

The enemy was put to shame, the sacrifice paved way for her, she had a
Child which was considered impossible, even when the enemy struck there
Was deliverance.

1.4 King Solomon

Solomon offered a thousand burnt offering at Gibeon, the greatest ever at that time, this attracted the almighty and the lord appeared to him in a dream and asked what can I do for thee as recorded in the book of 1 kings
3:4-5.

‘And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.

In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.

Solomon requested for an understanding heart to judge his people and God
Granted this request, 1 kings 3: 10-12

‘And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.

And God said unto him, because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for

His love for God propelled him to offering the Lord the best. He build a house for the Almighty with the best materials, some were imported from abroad and this king believes that God deserves the best. His father David could not achieve this feat due to numerous battles which he fought, 1 kings 5: 5
