Dignity Of Work
1-To do work with one’s own hands is very a useful habit. There is nothing shameful or undignified in it. We find that in this world we can have nothing without work. We have various scientific inventions because of work. If people had not worked, we would never built railways, motors, ships aero planes, radios, televisions, etc. If the farmers do not plough the soil, there will be no crops. If the masons, carpenters and weavers do not labour, there will be no houses or shelter and no clothes to cover our bodies.

The English ruled the sub-continent for about one hundred year. They employed the local people as cooks, bearers, valets etc. The Pakistan and the Indians also began copying them blindly. They began employing local men to do their manual work for them. In fact, these English men and women in the country did all their house chores themselves.

In our country, people usually think that a man a works in the office is superior to the man who works in the field. This idea is wrong. A Tangawala or a Rikshawala earns much more than a clerk. So, we must give the manual worker a place of dignity in our society. In fact work is worship. Our Holy Prophet (S. A. W) raised the dignity of work when he carried bricks for the construction of the masjind, dug trenches. He even mended his own worn out shoes.
2-It is famous saying "Hard Work is a Key to Success". Actually is also true "where there is a will there is a way". Those nations who work hard get famous in the world.
Dignity of work means to understand the importance of work and labour. Every one should realize the dignity of labour and work. Our Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) love doing work for him self. He repaired his shoes, mended and washed his clothes and swept his room.
When the mosque of Medina was under constructions, he carried mud and building material. During the Battle of Khandaq, he joined his companions in digging the ditch outside Medina.

Many people in our society today don’t associate dignity with blue-collar jobs. Most don’t aspire to be plumbers or construction workers. But, after analyzing the pieces we read for class, my views have changed. I believe there is a good amount of dignity that comes along with people working blue collar jobs. In the setting of The Case for Working With Your Hands, the author describes how working in a motorcycle shop was more rewarding than working a traditional white-collar job. The role of hierarchy played an important in many of these pieces, especially in Rivethead. Management at General Motors prevented employees from feeling a sense of dignity by dehumanizing them and treating them with no respect. Similarly, in The Birth of The Office, management took many actions to prevent employees from feeling a sense of pride and self-worth, including making them do the same action over and over…

Due to European imperialism, the treatment of the natives of India and sub-Saharan Africa was very poor and derelict, particularly among women and citizens of lower classes. In India, Britain, the predominant administration amongst the Western countries, negatively affected the population in several ways. Instead of aiding the Indian economy, all profits from Indian raw materials were delivered to Britain. Textile mills that were built by the British decreased the need for local textile businesses, which were often run by women. Furthermore, British tax laws declared that local authorizes could confiscate unpaid land from peasants. Because of British colonial rule, India’s economy suffered, which caused misfortunes for the population. In comparison, the consequences of European imperialism in sub-Saharan Africa also caused problems among the population. For example, African families were forced to split up; men worked in mines and on plantations, while women and children stayed in villages to grow food for survival. Distance between husbands and wives for long periods of time led to an increase in prostitution and the spread…

Work is defined as a job or activity that one does regularly in order to earn money, yet the concept of work seems to be a controversial topic many argue about. Those who do work are often happy with their job but there are also those who are dissatisfied. Perhaps this controversy is due to Social Darwinism, also known as the survival of the fittest, by brainwashing society to believe that success is being superior to others. This mutual theme of Social Darwinism is presented amongst the poems Night Waitress by Lynda Hull, Singapore by Mary Oliver, and Hard Work by Stephen Dunn. The biggest dispute is if people are working to survive or working to be…

Part two of The Good Endeavor, sheds light as to why humans struggle with work in our day to day lives. Keller explains how it all roots back to the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve eating of the forbidden fruit, in his opinion, was a test. This opportunity to obey God merely because of who God is and what was asked of them was a sure fail. The author expands, saying because of this and every other fall of man "sin leads to disintegration of every area of life..” this would include work. Every person, job and area of life will have its fall. Not one particular part will be perfect. Keller gives an example from the play Amadeus. Mozart and Salieri, both composers but they each had success in their own. Salieri was envious of the kind of success Mozart had because he was no doubt a prodigy. However,…

Americans are considered one of the hardest working group of people in today’s world. Work is important as we all want to ensure our needs are satisfied. However, society today labors harder than before and would even seek to eliminate relaxation and recreation time. Is our life mainly based around working? Analysis Against Work

In Christophe Clausen’s article, “Against Work,” he explores an idea of not working. In the reading, he contrasts the differences in attitude toward work between Americans and Europeans. Also, he addresses the questions about the essence of work and about the reasons of people engaging so much effort in to it. I believe Against Work is a successful article despite the fact that Clausen does not give his own definition of this topic clearly. He has a well-written introduction, body and conclusion. Also, Clausen has the clear and narrow theses in different parts of his essay. Lastly, Clausen has well explained examples and clear language to support his theses.…

‘’ Dignity is concerned with how people feel, think and behave in relation to the worth or value of themselves and others. To treat someone with dignity is to treat them as being of worth, in a way that is respectful of them as valued individuals.’’ This means that you should always think about what other individuals may be thinking or feeling whilst treating them the same as you would wish to be treat by another individual. Defining Success

Growing up as youngest child I quickly realized what the meaning of work really was. My father was a general contractor, building multiple houses at the same time and that meant there was always work to be done. At the age of ten I was the youngest employee my father had. My job was to clean up the mess that the carpenters left behind on each job site. This mostly entailed sweeping and vacuuming up saw dust and throwing the scrap wood into the dumpster. At the time I thought this was the best job a person could ever have because I got to throw pieces of wood out of a window three stories up. A few years later I got promoted to installing insulation in attics. I thought it was a promotion because I got to climb around way up in the rafters and no one else did. For me the meaning of work was completely understood at a very young age, but more importantly my father engrained into my head the phrase,” if you are going to do something, do it right.” He showed me that cutting corners, buying cheap materials, or in general not doing the job the right way would always come back to bite you.…
